Thursday 19th August 2027 · The Lancrigg · Grasmere · The Lake District

The Lancrigg, tucked into the fells above Grasmere
Getting there
The Lancrigg sits on Easedale Road, a 10–15 minute walk from Grasmere village in the heart of the Lake District. One word of warning: if you're travelling to Grasmere on the day, traffic between Windermere and Ambleside can be very slow in summer, whether you're driving or on the bus. Please allow plenty of extra time, or consider coming up the night before and making a proper trip of it.

Frequently asked questions
What should I wear?
Semi-formal. Parts of the day are outdoors in the gardens, so bring a layer and shoes that can cope with grass. This is the Lake District, after all.
What time should I arrive?
If you're joining us for the ceremony, please aim to be at The Lancrigg at least 30 minutes before it begins, so everyone is seated in good time. Exact timings for your invitation are shown when you RSVP.
Are children welcome?
Absolutely, children are very welcome! We'd just ask for a little quiet during the ceremony itself, so if your small one decides it's the perfect moment for a big sing-song, we'd be grateful if you could pop out with them until they've finished their solo.
Can I bring a plus-one?
We've kept the guest list to the names on each invitation. When you RSVP, everyone in your party will be listed. If someone's missing or circumstances have changed, just get in touch.
Is there parking at the venue?
Yes, there is parking at The Lancrigg. If you'd rather leave the car and enjoy a drink, it's a pleasant 10–15 minute walk from Grasmere village along Easedale Road.
How do I get home at the end of the night?
Taxis in the Lakes are limited and get booked up quickly, so we'd recommend arranging your return journey in advance, or better still, staying somewhere within walking distance (see accommodation above).
What if it rains?
It's the Lake District, so we have a plan! The ceremony and celebrations can all move indoors at The Lancrigg if the weather doesn't cooperate. An umbrella in the car is never a bad idea.
I have a dietary requirement. What should I do?
No problem at all. Once you've RSVP'd, drop us an email with the details and we'll make sure you're looked after.
Do you have a gift registry?
Your company on the day is truly the greatest gift. Should you wish to give something, a contribution towards our honeymoon would be very gratefully received. There will be a card box on the day.
Can I take photos during the ceremony?
We're having an unplugged ceremony, so please keep phones and cameras tucked away while we say our vows, and let our photographer capture the moment. Afterwards, snap away and share everything with us!
Is the venue accessible?
If you have any accessibility needs, such as step-free access or seating, please let us know when you RSVP and we'll make sure everything is arranged for you.
Can I change my RSVP later?
Yes, just come back to this site, look yourself up again on the RSVP page, and update your answers. We'd appreciate any changes before the RSVP deadline.
What if I can't make it?
You'll be missed! Please still RSVP so we know not to expect you, and if your plans change before the deadline, you can always update your response.
